INSTRUCTIONS for Course
Selection for 2007-2008
|
|
Dear Students:
We want to give you a head start in course selection for next
year. Even if you think you might move to another school,
we need you to go through the process. Here are the steps:
| 1. |
Print
your grade-level worksheet page. Read the information
carefully and follow the instructions. |
| 2. |
Save
your worksheet and prepare any questions you might have
for your teachers or grade-level counselor. Ask questions
of your teachers,
counselor, and parent/guardian before you receive the
official card for course selection.
|
| 3. |
Use
your worksheet to complete the official Course Selection
Card that Homeroom teachers will have for you on Monday,
March 5. Remember, if you need teachers’ signatures
for certain electives, get them that day and the day after.
Your elective(s) will not be processed without the required
signatures. Instead, an alternate course will be selected.
Therefore, do not forget to select alternate courses carefully. |
| 4. |
Present
the Course Selection Card to the teachers of your required
courses on the following days:
| |
Wednesday,
March 7 |
math,
foreign language, and English teachers |
| |
Thursday,
March 8 |
science, and any teacher whose signature you did
not get earlier this week for a class or elective |
| |
Thursday
night: |
Make
sure parents your parents sign the card. |
|
| 5. |
You
will turn in the signed, completed Course Selection cards
to your Homeroom teacher on Friday, March 9. |
| 6. |
If
there are any problems when we process the card, your
grade-level counselor will call you in for esolution. |
| 7. |
Once
your requests are processed, we will give you a sheet
verifying your choices. Remember, that is not a schedule,
just a list of what you selected to take
next year. You will take the sheet home and have it signed
by your parents. Return the sheet to your homeroom teacher
when due. |
| 8. |
We
hope to have your schedule by mid-May so that if there
are any erros or major conflicts, we can resolve them
before you leave for summer break. |
| 9. |
FOR
SENIORS ONLY: If you wish to leave school after your
6th period class next year, you must have a minimum of
a 2.0 cumulative average by the end of your first semester
of this year. Download a
permission form, complete it, and attach it to your
course selection card. Submit both to your homeroom teacher
on March 9th. You can not request early dismissal
later than March 9. |
